Hayfever Relief with Essential Oils

It's the time of year as trees come into flower and other allergens like grasses are growing rapidly that can be a nightmare for many of us to tackle; the nose itching and eye streaming that accompanies the warmer weather is a real pain! If you live in a town, you might find that you suffer more than if you were in the countryside. This is due to toxic exposure to more chemicals as well as the fact the pollen blows around rather than being absorbed in to the earth.

Never fear! Here is some natural relief for you: Essential Oils!

Essential oils are great for so many ailments but today I will talk about those that will help alleviate the symptoms of hay fever.
1) Peppermint - reduces inflammation, cooling on the skin
2) Lavender - anti-inflammatory, calming, prevents allergic reaction and prevents enlargement of mucus cells
3) Eucalyptus -anti-inflammatory, helps with congestion
4) Blend of sandalwood, frankincense and ravintsara - use to treat perennial rhinitis. improves blocked nasal passages, runny and itchy noses as well as sneezing.
I recommend diffusing them in your home, inhaling by creating a 'hand tent' (drop in the palm, rub your hands together and take a deep breath), diluting with a carrier oil (sweet almond or fractionated coconut) and massage on to the skin and bathing in them (2-3 drops added to your usual bath oil or salts).

doTERRA sells all of the above oils as well as a signature blend called Air that is very effective at clearing the airways. If you would like to receive 25% off RRP then follow the instructions under the essential oils tab.
I am more than happy to help you with choosing the right oils for you, so please ask if you would like some help!

If this would help any of your friends and family then please do share this post or pass them my details.
